Prophylaxis (Teeth Cleaning)

A dental prophylaxis is a cleaning process performed to clean the teeth thoroughly. It is an important dental treatment to halt the progression of periodontal disease and gingivitis and keep the oral cavity in good health. Benefits of prophylaxis include tartar and plaque removal, fresher breath, healthy gums.

Sealants

Sealants

A sealant is a coating applied to the teeth with deep grooves (pits and fissures). It protects the teeth by sealing deep grooves and fissures which are very vulnerable to decay, creating a smooth surface that is easy to clean.

tooth veners

Veneers

A veneer is a layer of tooth colored material that is placed over the tooth. They are done to either improve the esthetics of the tooth or to protect the tooth's surface from damage. Veneers can be made of composite that is directly placed in the mouth or porcelain that is fabricated by the dental technician in the lab and then bonded to the tooth using a resin cement.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown (or cap) covers the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens the tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations. A crown is always recommended on teeth that have been Root Canal Treated.Although there are several types of crowns available, porcelain (tooth colored) crowns are the most popular, because they resemble the natural teeth. A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an excellent way to replace missing teeth.

Complete and Partial Dentures

A denture is a removable dental appliance fabricated for replacement of missing teeth and surrounding tissues. There are two types of dentures – complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are made when all of the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are made when some natural teeth remain. A partial denture not only fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from shifting. Dentures usually have to be relined, repaired and readjusted over time.

Endodontic Therapy (Root Canal Treament)

Root canal treatment is done when the nerve of the tooth is affected by decay or infection. It is performed to save the tooth. After the decay, infection and nerve is removed the resulting space is filled with special medicated dental materials to restore the tooth.

Extractions

Extraction is the removal of the tooth from it's socket in the bone. It is performed when the tooth is fractured and extensively damaged or decayed and cannot be repaired.
